Annabelle’s journey hasn’t been easy but her story is one of incredible strength, resilience, and love.

Annabelle came into rescue injured and pregnant, understandably shut down from everything she had endured. With time, patience, care, and compassion, she began to heal both physically and emotionally. She safely welcomed her babies and somewhere along the way, this beautiful girl blossomed into one of the sweetest, most gentle souls you could ever meet.

Today, Annabelle is a completely different dog. She loves to run and play outside, soaking up the freedom and joy she deserves. She has a calm, loving presence and is truly just the best girl.

Annabelle does wonderfully with large dogs. She can be selective with smaller dogs, although she currently lives successfully with a 7-pound dog. Because she can be more particular with small dogs, introductions should be done thoughtfully and slowly, especially when another dog is entering her established space.

Annabelle would likely do best with older respectful children who understand how to give a dog space and let her approach at her own pace. She can be uncomfortable around loud, rambunctious energy, so a quieter home with children who can interact with her calmly would be the best fit. If you’re looking for a dog who is simply wonderful to live with, Annabelle checks so many boxes. She is excellent for baths and nail trims and she now happily goes into her crate on command. She has worked so hard to learn that she is safe, loved, and cared for. Watching her confidence grow has been incredibly rewarding.

Annabelle has come such a long way and now she’s ready for the final piece of her journey: a forever family where she can continue to feel safe, loved, and cherished for the rest of her life. She may have started her journey with us afraid and unsure, but today she is a happy, playful, affectionate girl who has so much love to give. Annabelle is proof of just how much a little love and kindness can change a life.
